THE KCT Community Fitness STORY

Chris Stratford - OWNER

I found CrossFit a while back – I believe my first workout was Fran which was a terrible idea as I had no idea how hard it was going to be. But from that workout I fell in love with everything that is CrossFit.

It wasn’t until after a year of doing CrossFit I realised that I wanted to have my own box & this is where the idea for KCT came from. In January 2019 we opened our doors and haven’t looked back since, we have built a brilliant community which supports one another in every aspect of life, not just gym life.

My true passion in life has always been to listen and observe. In order to be apart of and to move towards a kinder, healthier and a more aware world. I firmly believe we all know what our bodies need to create a healthy and happy life for ourselves but within the fast-paced and stressful world that we live in, we disconnect from our bodies and what they need. ​ I have had a troublesome time with my own health and well-being and have spent much of my life returning to a healthier place for my mind, body and spirit.

I am still learning and I certainly don’t know everything but I am always keen to share and I adore supporting others on their own unique journeys.

Our hope for KCT Community Fitness is to use our knowledge, our experiences and our compassion to create a kind, supportive and safe space for everyone to grow and to become the happiest and healthiest versions they can. We use functional fitness to create strong bonds in the community and to cultivate the courage and resilience that is within us all to move towards our own dreams and goals.

I continue to study and actively use ancient traditional practices to aid my nutrition and health. I adore nature and find great benefits for my mind, body and soul when moving through nature. I am currently starting my herbal medicine journey through a foundational course and hope to continue to deepen my knowledge to aid others in empowering them to take control of their own health.

I sincerely hope we can grow and evolve as a Community and overcome anything that comes our way. I am so excited to be able to walk this new and exciting journey with you.

Nathan Anderson

COACH

I joined KCT back in 2019, after being pushed by my wife to start looking after myself. After attending one class, I was hooked! I finally found a sport and community that helped me grow and not just watch me suffer in the corner. The gym really helped me open up and become more socialable and, essentially, become who I am today. Since joining, I have never been stronger and healthier, and I couldn't thank the other coaches enough for helping me progress.

After being approached by Chris about becoming a coach, I instantly started doing more research and studying into becoming as great a coach as I could. I love to see people grow and get stronger and healthier, and hearing about how much I have helped them makes this job all the more incredible.

After only working here a year, I have progressed even more into writing programmes for members, and even learning and progressing into working along side kids, and helping them to move better, feel better, and inevitably get ready for life and help them progress through life with ease.
